A new day at work always begins with my alarm screaming to get my lazy ass of my bed. Have to resist my body pulling myself towards my laptop and start Facebook and force myself into the shower. Fast forward to driving myself to work and found myself a nice parking lot that fits my car perfectly. After getting out of the car, I noticed a lady that is staring at me for a while, then proceed back to her car to get something.. it didn't bother me much so I walk away LIKE A BOSS.. If you don't like me getting the good spot, then you should change your car to MyVi or something small.
Continue walking to my office LIKE A BOSS, turn on my PC and ready to proceed for some Facebook... and then all the office lights went out. Surely enough, I was caught off-guard that a power failure would happen so early in the morning.. and as the next few seconds slowly tick by, I then remember something important. Did anything happen to the servers?
I rush to the server room and found almost half of the devices.. dead and offline. What the f*** I should do now... was what I was thinking. I had analyze the situation, checking every server status and then conclude that I have to bring about 10 servers back online via the backup power supply.. alone. That wasn't the end, because pretty soon, customer calls are flooding into our office, and later I found out that changing the power supply isn't going to solve the issue, as I need to worry about the Internet connection that was also offline during the power failure.
Using two hands to do my job, while one ear to listen to my customer long nagging complaints. That is all the load I can take. To handle a shit this BIG, I need extra pair of hands. I need reinforcements, not extra nagging from people I don't wanna hear from. Your nagging won't speed up my work, goddamnit.
After that, the 'finger-pointing' game starts. I really enjoy the typical lazy management people desperately pushing out all the blame from themselves. "It's not my fault that the power is out. If you really want to get your hands into this shit, why don't you ask TNB??" was my first response I got from them. After that, I am unable to reach any of them for further comments. When there is a problem, they will have a half-day leave, running away from trouble.
Finally when most of the restoration done (alone in the office), I drove back home for a late dinner, then noticing a green parking receipt on my wipers, only that the paper is abit bigger than the normal receipt. Surely it can't be that?!! But sadly it is...
I bet that it was that bitch this morning who can't stand small cars able to fit into tight places.
One of my college lecturers always mention this: "Today is a good day. You know why? Because EVERYDAY is a good day..". 4 years later, I have been thinking to myself "Today is a bad day. You know why? Because EVERYDAY there is someone trying to screw my life up.."
