A mundane Sunday afternoon's leisure time is spent differently for many people, and it sometimes depends on how deep are your pockets. There was this chubby uncle relaxing at one corner at Starbucks, sipping his RM20+ worth coffee, with his finger making big swipes on his electronic tablet. Apparently he was in the midst of a heavy discussion with his group of friends, with his voice annoyingly loud that I was able to hear it clearly when I was ordering my drink.
"You know the technology is so ADVANCED today, you can even watch videos on the Internet!! It is soooo ADVANCED nowadays..."
"...in our days, we have to cramp together in a room to watch a small TV. And it's only black and white. These days the kids have HD, they have 3D... they had everything easy because it is soooo ADVANCED."
What kids? Does he mean his kids, or people like me in the young generation?
It would seem like he is debating about how fast videos available on YouTube, or maybe how fast we connect to people. Yes, it is the technology that we are enjoying, but kids had it easy?? How the hell I had it easy?? You're mistaken uncle. You must have forgotten that maybe the people in the older generation before you, there weren't any TVs. You must have forgotten of that damn iPad you're clinging tightly!!
I was thinking that maybe he wasn't criticizing us, the younger generation for "having it easy" with technology, but maybe just talking about how nice he gets to watch YouTube with his iPad. But still, you're in Starbucks, uncle. Everyone in Starbucks has something with i in front.
If I want to talk about us kids having things easy, I would look at other issues like SPM for example.

You're given the authority to swipe me like you swipe your credit card.
